Getting Ready for the New Year

The holidays are over (or nearly) and our heads are turning towards 2017. For better or worse, 2016 was a roller coaster and we’re willing to bet that many of us have had our New Year’s resolutions decided on for weeks. However, before January 1st arrives there are a few things we can do now to prepare for our fresh starts.

Cleanse! We don’t necessarily mean a juice or smoothie cleanse, but the point here is to quickly refresh mentally and physically. Whether that’s packing away the remnants of the holiday decorations, spending some time meditating, refreshing your skincare routine, or even doing that quick diet cleanse, there are several ways to start 2017 with a clean slate regardless of your specific resolution.

Prepare to be organized. If your resolutions have anything to do with organizational skills now is the time to download helpful apps, purchase new organizers or planners, or seek the advice of some professionals. Westglow has wellness programs specifically designed for life balance and organization. Those programs and similar services can be invaluable for anyone wanting a New Year reboot.

Purge. This one is slightly different than cleanse in that we’re only referring to shedding unwanted or unnecessary aspects of your life. When in doubt, throw it out. Old beauty products, worn out fitness clothing, broken pieces of furniture, rarely used apps that only take up memory space on our phones, receipts from two years ago, the list is borderline endless here. The point being that it’ll be harder to start fresh in 2017 with excess, unwanted clutter around you.
