The lights and excitement of Broadway grace the festival’s stage with the pairing of two of musical theater’s most celebrated performers. Tony award winners Ben Vereen and Chita Rivera join together to perform an evening of Broadway classics that will take you on a musical journey through their legendary careers.

Guys and Dolls. In 1957 she made the transition to acting with her electric performance as Anita in the Broadway premiére of classic musical Chicago, as well as Kiss of the Spider Woman, Can-Can and Bye Bye Birdie. In addition to hermany acting awards, Rivera was awarded The Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2009.Wicked, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar and Pippin, which garnered him both the prestigious Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for “Best Actor in a Musical.” Vereen has also createdmemorable roles such as the unforgettable “Chicken George” in Roots and Louis Armstrong in Louis Armstrong –Chicago Style. Vereen’s television appearances include Law and Order: Criminal Intent, How I Met Your Mother,Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Silk Stalkings and Grey’s Anatomy, for which he won the Prism Award in 2008.
